C. Lester Miller

C. Lester Miller, 95, Maplewood, MN, formerly of Moorhead, MN, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 2, 2017, with family by his side.

Charles Lester Miller, son of Charles and Edith (Cook) Miller, was born in Baker, MN, on Sept. 20, 1922. He grew up, received his education and farmed in the Baker area.
On June 29, 1952, Lester married Dorothy Meier, at Hawley, MN. They made their home on the farm near Baker. In 1960, they moved to Moorhead, where Lester was a mail carrier for 22 years, until retirement in 1989.

Lester was a woodworker who spent countless hours making toys, manger scenes, and trains for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 2007, the couple moved to the Twin Cities, and have lived with their daughter, Linda, in Maplewood for the past 2 ½ years.

Lester is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy, of Maplewood; a son, Wayne (Allison) Miller, Fargo; twin daughters, Linda (Alan) Bradbury, Maplewood, and Linel (Timothy) Mehus, Woodbury, MN; a sister, Vonnie Kuyper; 8 grandchildren, all who live in the Twin Cities area and could visit grandpa regularly, Ryan (Ashley) and Steven (Kristina) Bradbury, Lauren (Mike) Lutterman, Anna, Brian (Nikki) and Christopher (Emily) Mehus, Matthew Miller, and Kelsey (Mitch) Peterson; great-grandchildren, Caden, Cooper, Hadley, Logan and Sadie Bradbury, Brooks, Chloe and Cora Mehus, Ella Lutterman, and Avery and Flynn Peterson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

The funeral service for C. Lester Miller will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 11:30 AM, in
The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead. Visitation will be the hour prior to the funeral, at the church.

Lester will be buried on Tuesday, at 3 PM, in the Hawley City Cemetery, Hawley.
