Candace "Candy" M. Rickert, 44, died peacefully in her sleep at her lake home in Detroit Lakes, MN, on August 3, 2007.
Candy Marie Hatfield was born on September 18, 1962, in Ada, MN. She grew up in Moorhead, MN, and graduated from Moorhead High School. On February 14, 1981, Candy married Mark Rickert in Moorhead where they made their home. She lovingly raised their two children and assisted her husband with the family business, Metro Disposal.
Candy lived a full and happy life. She will be remembered most for the award winning costumes, and her artistic gift as she loved to paint and draw. She had a zest for life and a spirited nature. She dearly loved her family and had many fun times at Meadow Lake.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mark; a daughter, Niki, Fargo, ND; a son, Tony, Moorhead; a grandson, Jayce; her beloved dog, Elvis; her mother, Frances Bittner, Moorhead; four sisters, Dee Dee (Mike) Offermann, Moorhead, Shelly (Steve) Wills, Fargo; Penny (Joel) Rehder, Moorhead, and Jan Klevgaard; four nieces, Brandy, Mandy, Ellie and Taylor; and two nephews, Donovan and Brady. She was preceded in death by her father Don Hatfield; her step-father, Vern Bittner; and her mother and father-in-law, Harvey and Janet Rickert.
The visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 - 8 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, with a prayer service at 7 PM.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at 1 PM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
