Carmen Victoria Heiraas, the daughter of Carl and Inga (Bjerke) Heiraas, was born at Borup, MN, on November 15, 1921. On June 30, 1943, Carmen was united in marriage to Charles Borgen, at Jevnaker Lutheran Church, near Borup. They made their home and raised their family on a farm near Georgetown, MN.
Carmen and Charles were active members of Landstad Lutheran Church, rural Perley, MN, until it's closure in 1996. They continued with their worship at Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church in Moorhead, MN. Carmen loved the Lord and her family. It showed in her everyday life.
Carmen went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at the age of eighty-four.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; one daughter, Linda (Donald) Osterberg, Colorado Springs, CO; four sons, Kent (Joan), Winona, MN, Paul (Pat), Dilworth, MN, Craig (Joan), Fargo, ND, and Charles Jr. (Wendy), Georgetown; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Aldus (Lynn) Heiraas, Detroit Lakes, MN; four sisters, Alice Dahl, Ada, MN, Ordella Eastvold, Glyndon, MN, Marcy (Earl) Hillstead, Hitterdal, MN, and Melva Flesjer, Tacoma, WA; and one sister-in-law, Verona Heiraas, Ada.
Visitation for Carmen will be Thursday, February 16, 2006, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, Moorhead. Her funeral will be Friday, February 17, 2006, at 1 PM, in the church. Burial will follow in Landstad Lutheran Cemetery, Perley.
