Carol Ann Kringler, 87, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, in her home with her family at her side.
Carol was born June 16, 1936, in Grygla, MN, and lived on a farm near there with her parents until her father passed away when Carol was thirteen. After his death, Carol and her mother, Helen, moved to Moorhead, MN, where she attended Moorhead High School and where she met her future husband, Harold Kringler.
Carol and Harold were married on June 25, 1953, and were blessed with three children -Gordon, Orliss, and Aaron. They made their home in Fargo, ND, where Harold began his career as a truck driver. In 1963, Carol and Harold moved to Moorhead and that same year she received her high school diploma followed by a degree in accounting from Moorhead Vocational Technical College. She later worked as a bookkeeper for several places including Cargill, The American Cancer Society, and others. In 2000, Harold and Carol retired and spent their winters in Sinton, TX, and their summers were spent at Rush Lake Tent and Trailer Park, which they had stayed at since the 1980s.
In 1963, when they moved to Moorhead, Carol and Harold became members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed lifelong friendships while participating in church activities. Also, Carol and her neighbors formed a sewing club for the dual purpose of sewing clothes for their families and sharing friendship.
Carol enjoyed boat rides, campfires, and meeting new people. She often introduced herself as “Pam" which stood for piss and moan. It took a few years for the fellow campers to learn her real name. She also told her grandkids to call her “Crazy Grandma,” while she called them “Klutz” and “Nuisance.”
Carol will be greatly missed by her son, Aaron and his wife, Cathy Adams; daughter-in-law, Valerie Kringler; grandchildren, Jessica (Jeff) Reule and Nigel Kringler; great- grandchildren, Gavin, Zoe, Levi and Valen; brother-in-law, Harry Kringler; sister-in-law, Joline Kringler; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
To greet her in the next life are her parents, Oscar and Helen Sletten; husband, Harold; son,
Gordon; and daughter, Orliss.
