Carol Pratt

Carol J. Pratt, 77, of Moorhead, MN, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 15, 2016, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Carol Jayne Saele, daughter of Harold and Catherine (Sletteland) Saele, was born on October 16, 1939, in Devils Lake, ND. She grew up in Munich, ND, with her three brothers, Harris, Arvid and Leland. She attended Banner School until the eighth grade and she graduated from Devils Lake High School, in 1957. Carol attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Valley City, ND, where she met and married Harlan Pratt, who was from Cooperstown, ND. They had two children, Robert and Maria.

During their years in St. Paul, MN, Carol worked at Presbyterian Homes and cared for her family. She and Harlan later divorced, and Carol moved to Moorhead, where she served as a nurse at Moorhead HealthCare Center, until retirement.

Carol's time was filled with her love of gardening, birdwatching, keeping her home, and participating in many church activities, as well as traveling and shopping.

Carol is survived by her children, Robert Pratt, Moorhead, and Maria (Mike) Rohde, Langdon, ND; three grandchildren, Nick, Leah, and Chase; her brothers, Harris (Dianne) Saele, Devils Lake, Arvid (Carol) Saele, Dubuque, IA, and Leland (Margo) Saele, Vancouver, WA; many nieces; nephews; and many cousins, including the Sletteland family.

Visitation for Carol will be Monday, 5 PM until 7 PM, at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her funeral will be Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at 1 PM, at Brookdale Baptist Church, Moorhead.

She will be buried Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 10:30 AM, in the Alsen (ND) Cemetery.
