Carroll L. "Kelly" Fike of Glyndon, MN, died on Friday evening, November 2, 2007 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND at the age of 74 years.
Carroll Lloyd Fike was born December 22, 1932 to C. Lloyd and Evelyn (Rundgren) Fike in Moorhead, MN. He was raised in Moorhead where he also attended school. As a young man, Kelly worked for the railroad, an electronics firm, G.M.C., and American Crystal Sugar.
On December 29, 1972, he was married to Beverly Price in Sisseton, SD. The majority of his working years involved driving a gravel truck for Kost Bros. Inc. and Aggregate Industries. He retired in 2004 after driving for over 36 years.
Throughout his life, Kelly enjoyed the outdoors, when he could be camping, fishing, or gardening. He loved all animals and especially appreciated watching birds. Kelly enjoyed his family and was known as a generous man who would help anyone who needed it. Woodworking, watching football of all levels, playing cribbage and pinochle were great pastimes for him.
His is survived by his wife, Beverly of Glyndon, MN; two daughters, Kelli (Cory) Back of Glyndon and their children, Jakob, Alexis, Selena, and Hayden, Kristi (Matt) Carlson of Moorhead and their children Max and Danny. Also surviving are Rikki Givens and Cindi Blaha of Detroit Lakes, MN; 2 brothers, Bruce (Eileen) Fike of Moorhead, Duane (Carol) Fike of Duluth; 2 sisters, Marlys (George) Peters of Hawley, MN, and Shirlee (Gerald) Lahren of Kindred, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Monday (11/5) from 5 PM to 7 PM at Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon, with a Prayer Service at 7 PM.
Funeral Service: Tuesday (11/6) at 1 PM, Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
