Cayetano Gallegos III

Cayetano Gallegos III, 60, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on April 3, 2023, in Essentia Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Cayetano “Junior” Gallegos III was born on August 27, 1962, to Cayetano Gallegos Jr. and Maria Del Carmen (Sanchez) Gallegos, in Portland, OR.  Junior was raised in Carrizo Springs, TX, where he went to school. At the age of 13 Junior went to work in the fields with his brother, even at a young age he worked very hard to provide for his family. The work ethic he learned at such a young age stuck with him for the rest of his life. He worked in sugar beet fields for many years. In 1992 he moved to Moorhead, where he continued to live until his death. Junior also worked for Remington Seeds in Mapleton, ND from 2002 until he retired in 2010. Junior married Pamela Gallegos and together had a daughter, Sabrina. Later the two divorced but remained close friends. Pamela was always a supportive person in Junior’s life over the years.

Junior cherished his family. He loved spending time with them. He especially enjoyed summers outside with the grandchildren. They were very special to him. Aside from spending time outside he enjoyed watching old western movies like Gunsmoke and Bonanza. Junior was also a big wrestling fan and enjoyed watching the tournaments.

Junior is survived by his daughter, Sabrina Gallegos; grandchildren Carter Larry and Weston Thompson; ex-wife, Pamela Gallegos; sister, Betty Vega; brother, Jose Gallegos; niece and caretaker, Jennifer Gallegos; as well as many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cayetano and Maria; and sister, Maria Orosco.

A burial will be held for Cayetano in Carrizo Springs, TX, soon.
