Charles L. Hanson

March 3, 1953 — July 10, 2006

Charles Lindahl Hanson was born March 3, 1953, in Thief River Falls, MN, to Dorothy and Kermit Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from Lincoln High School and Northland Community College in Thief River Falls.
Charles lived in the shadow of schizophrenia, but he never complained about his disability or requested special treatment. Charles expanded his world through reading, public television and regional travel. He appreciated quality art and design and had an endearing sense of humor.
Charles spent the last ten years of his life in Moorhead, MN. He was a faithful worshipper at Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in the Social Club of Fargo, ND, and the Social Connection in Moorhead. He was employed in the Shipping and Receiving Department of Herbergers Department Store. He enjoyed apartment life at Riverview Heights.

The family is grateful to the mental health community, to Herbergers' management and staff, and to the members of Trinity Lutheran Church for providing a supportive community and spiritual network for our dear Charles.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Katherine Hanson; uncle, Robert Gunstad; cousins, Robert Gunstad Jr., Debra Rustad and James Gunstad; and other relatives and friends. Charles died on July 10, 2006, at the age of 53. May his memory be blessed.
