Charles R. Swanson, 90, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, July 3, 2015, in Golden Living Center, Moorhead.
Charles was born on September 11, 1924. Charles served his country in the US Army during WW II. He was married in 1944 to Edith Mae Nystul. He earned his master's degree at North Dakota State and his Phd at Iowa State University. He became a scientist for the US Department of Agriculture. He later was an administrator, and did a great deal of travel for his work. He retired in 1979 and returned to the Midwest.
Charles is survived by three children, Joan Swanson, Fargo, Glenn Swanson, Montana, and Steven (Carol) Swanson, Greenwood, MN; four grandchildren, Jeff Krapu, Amy (Brad) Dockter, Derek (Rita) Swanson, and Dana Swanson; and five great-grandchildren, Lainey Aune, and Isaac, Joshua, Samuel, and Hannah Dockter.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
