Charles W. Pixley

Charles Wilton Pixley, the son of Royce and Hattie (Boone) Pixley, was born March 3, 1919 at Fargo, ND, where he grew up and received his education. On July 27, 1940, Charles was united in marriage to Vivian M. Sandie, at First Presbyterian Church in Moorhead.


Charles and Vivian made their home in the Fargo-Moorhead area, where Charles owned and operated an independent paint and decorating business for a number of years. He later worked at First National Bank in Fargo and retired in 1971. After retirement, Charles worked part-time at the Clay County jail.


Charles died on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at the Moorhead Healthcare Center, at the age of 85.


Charles is survived by his wife, Vivian of Moorhead; a son, LeRoy (Theresa) Pixley, Moorhead; a daughter, LaDonne Steinkopf, Moorhead; three grandchildren, Michelle (Paul) Bannerman, Matthew Pixley and Nathan Steinkopf; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Bannerman and Alexis and Danica Steinkopf.
