Charlotte Alm Nelson

July 6, 1925 — February 13, 2011

Charlotte May Leinum was born July 6, 1925, in Comstock, MN, to Severt and Flossie May (Griffith) Leinum. She spent her early years on the family farm near Comstock, MN.
The family moved to Ulen, MN, when Charlotte was young, and she graduated from Ulen High School. Charlotte graduated from Interstate Business College, Fargo, ND, with a business degree. She worked for Western Union and Southeastern North Dakota Community Action for a time.
Charlotte was married to Milton Alm on May 9, 1944, in Wolverton, MN, and they lived and farmed near Christine, ND. They moved into Fargo in 1956. Charlotte worked in the hospitality business for many years. Milton died in August of 1967, and she remained in Fargo. Charlotte spent her final working years baking at Leeby's Grocery and Sena's Lefse, which she enjoyed very much.
Charlotte married Lawrence "Husky" Nelson on October 25, 1980, in Fargo, where they made their home until moving to a farm at Hitterdal, MN, in 1988. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 2000, and Husky died November 30, 2002. Charlotte continued to make her home in the Moorhead and Dilworth, MN, communities.
Whether living on the farm or in town, Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed spending time in her garden. She also enjoyed painting and other craftwork.
Charlotte Alm Nelson died Sunday, February 13, 2011, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, at eighty-five years of age.
Charlotte is survived by her two sons, Milton "Mick" (Jeanne) Alm, Hendrum, MN, and Vance Alm, Reno, NV; two daughters, Della Marie (Robin) Linse, Little Canada, MN, and Colleen "Connie" Kay (Scott) Anderson, Fargo; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandch
Her funeral will be Friday, February 18, 2011, at 3:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Wolverton, MN.
