Claire A. Ellenson

Claire Anne Lindstrom, daughter of Erick and Bertha (Johnson) Lindstrom, was born September 29,1924, at Argusville, ND. She graduated from Argusville High School in 1941, and Moorhead (MN) State Teacher's College in 1943. Claire taught grade school at Fergus Falls and Ada, in Minnesota and Prosper, Argusville, Grandin, and Gardner, in North Dakota.
Claire married Lloyd Ellenson on June 24, 1951, at Rothsay, MN. They lived in Perley, MN, until they built their home near Gardner where they farmed and raised three children. Claire loved music and played piano and sang duets with Lloyd from the time they were in high school. She would take her accordion to nursing homes to entertain. Claire was the organist at Nora Lutheran Church for thirty years, where she also directed choirs. Claire and Lloyd enjoyed attending many polka fests with their friends.
Claire died Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, at eighty-six years of age.
Claire is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Lloyd Ellenson, Gardner; daughters, Linda Ellenson Parmer, Fargo, ND, and Sheila (Marlo) Davis, Crookston, MN; son, Ron (Karen) Ellenson, Gardner; grandchildren, Ben (Leah) Parmer and Alyssa (Brett) Gilbertson, both Fargo, Shaina Davis, Moorhead, Taylor Davis, Bemidji, MN, and Bailey Ellenson, Gardner; and four great-grandchildren, Brody and Nicolette Parmer, and Frances and Milo Gilbertson.
Claire was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eloise Anderson.
Visitation for Claire will be Wednesday, December 22, 2010, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her funeral will be Thursday, December 23, 2010, at 1 PM, in Nora Lutheran Church, rural Gardner.
Burial will follow in Nora Lutheran Cemetery.
