Clarence "Rick" F. Olson

Clarence F. “Rick” Olson, 62, of Fargo, ND, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in Sanford Health-West Campus, Fargo, ND.

Clarence Frederick Olson was born October 31, 1961, the son of Clarence A. and Joan (Nelson) Olson, in Fort Wainwright Military Hospital in Fairbanks, AK.   He moved with his family in 1968, to Bolling AFB in Washington, DC, and when his father retired in 1971, they settled in Rugby, ND.  In 1979, they move to Fargo, and he graduated from Fargo North High School in 1980.    Rick then continued his  education at North Dakota State University in Fargo where he received his bachelor’s degree in mass communications.  

On October 26, 1991, Rick was united in marriage to Debra Kay Offerdahl, daughter of Arland and Yvonne Offerdahl of Hatton, ND.  They established their home in Fargo where Rick worked for Sears, Sam’s Club and Checker Auto.  For the last eight years he has worked at Home Depot in Fargo.  

Rick was a member of Bethel Evangelical Church in Fargo and participated in the Bethel Choir. He was also a part of the Men’s Fraternity, Awana, and in the Drama Ministry at Bethel Church. In his leisure time he found joy in following football and baseball as well as indulging in his love for music.  
 He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debra; brother, James Olson, Great Falls, MT; mother-in-law, Yvonne Offerdahl, Hatton; brother-in-law, Gary Offerdahl, Hatton; and several cousins.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Arland.  

A Visitation for Rick will begin at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, followed by his Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, in Bethel Evangelical Church-Family Life Center, Fargo, ND.

Burial will take place in Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hatton, ND.
