Clyde F. Slininger, 87, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Dilworth, MN, died Friday, September 10, 2004, at his home under hospice care.
Clyde Frances Slininger was born October 14, 1916, in Ada, MN, to Charles and Fannie (Hornby) Slininger. Clyde was raised in the Ada and Twin Valley, MN, area where he attended country schools for his education.
On June 26, 1940, Clyde married Hazel Hanson, in Twin Valley, and they made their home near Twin Valley. Clyde served in the US Army from May 26, 1944, to March 6, 1946. Following his discharge, Clyde and Hazel moved to Fargo, ND.
They also lived in Baker, MT, and Bozeman, MT. In 1966, they moved to Moorhead, MN, and then to Dilworth in 1971. Clyde worked in construction for over forty-three years and retired in 1981. Most of his career was spent with Sornsin Construction of Fargo, as a foreman and superintendent.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Hazel, Moorhead; a son, Clifford (Judy) Slininger, Worthington, MN; a daughter, Kathryn (Thomas) Restemayer, Fargo; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell (Lorraine), and Burton (Laurena), both Twin Valley; and three sisters, Gladys Prussia, and Florence Erickson, both Twin Valley, and Margaret (Bill) Lee, Ada. In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by a daughter, Paulette; and a son, Keith.
