Cora Emily Sundstad, the daughter of Einar and Clara (Gaare) Sundstad, was born on the family farm at Perley, MN, on March 19, 1910. She went to grade school near the farm and then moved to Perley where she attended high school. She worked at the Ohnstad store in Perley.
On August 8, 1930, Cora was united in marriage to Arthur Rensvold at his sister Bessie's home in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in a log cabin on a farm east of Gardner until a new home was built on the farmstead. They farmed in the community until they retired.
Cora loved to travel and went to several places in the United States as well as Norway, Hawaii, and Canada. She was active in her church where she taught Sunday school for many years as well as the Ladies Aid. She was active in her community where she started a 4-H club and a homemakers club. Cora loved to garden and had many beautiful flowers.
For several years, Cora made a point of bringing a bouquet of flowers to church every Sunday. After Arthur's death in 1997, she moved to Trollwood Apartments in Fargo. In February of 2003, Cora moved to Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, where she died Saturday, September 4, 2004, at ninety-four years of age.
Cora is lovingly survived by her three sons, Alden, Grandin, ND, Howard (Darlene Kyllo), Fargo, and David (Sandy Schulze), Carmel, CA; two daughters, Carol Rensvold, Fargo, and Eileen (Chuck) Leasure, St. Petersburg, FL; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret (Jack) Chugg, Coeur de Lane, Idaho. In addition to her husband, Cora was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and six brothers.
Visitation for Cora will be Tuesday, September 7, 2004, from 4 - 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral will be Wednesday, September 8, 2004, at 10:30 AM, in Nora Lutheran Church, rural Gardner. Burial will follow in Nora Lutheran Cemeter
