Corinne "Corky" Evelyn Ramstad was born April 19, 1933, in Crookston, MN, to Alvin and Ragna (Forsness) Ramstad. She was raised in Crookston and graduated from Crookston Central High School in 1951.
Corinne moved to Minneapolis, MN, and received a degree as a medical lab technician in 1952. She was united in marriage to Gaylan "Ike" Eisert, June 30, 1953, in Crookston. They made their home in Baltimore, MD, where Corky worked as a medical lab tech at the naval base.
They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1956, and Corky assisted her husband in his insurance business until he retired in 1983. They continued to make their home in Moorhead where she was active in homemakers. She was a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead.
Along with her husband, she had a love for music that has been passed down to her family and she was always involved in family projects. She also enjoyed quilting. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all have one of her quilts as a remembrance. Corky maintained many longtime friendships and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Ike preceded her in death on February 13, 2006. Corky died Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND, at seventy-eight years of age.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael (Judy) Eisert, Fargo, Gregory (Stacey) Eisert, Anchorage, AK, and Douglas (Terri) Eisert, Bothell, WA; six grandchildren, Jason Eisert, Jessica Kraft, Christopher Eisert, Jonathan Eisert, Jeffrey Eisert and Paige Eisert; and three great-grandchildren, Kai Eisert, Sophia Kraft, and Carson Eisert.
Visitation for Corky will be Tuesday, September 20, 2011, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral will be Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at 11 AM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead. Burial will take place in Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
