Curtis E. Emerson, 90, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Wolverton, MN, died Monday, November 3, 2008, in Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Curtis Eldred Emerson was born September 20, 1918, in Polk County, MN, the son of Edward and Vernie (Hilliard) Emerson. He attended school in the Fosston-Lengby, MN, area until the 8th grade.
As a young man he enlisted in the Civil Conservation Corp. located in Bena, MN. On November 29, 1941, he enlisted in the Army serving in the European area in the 97th infantry. After his discharge in 1945, he resided in Milwaukee, WI, and worked in various manufacturing plants.
On October 23, 1948, Curtis married Winifred Anna Rusch in Milwaukee where they made their home. In 1952, they moved to Wolverton where Curtis bought the Wolverton Dray Line. He operated the Dray Line until 1963, when he became self-employed owning his own semi-truck. In 1973, he began working for Carlson Equipment Company and retired from there in 1981.
Curtis enjoyed summers at the lake, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a sixty year member of the Wolverton American Legion and held various offices with the city of Wolverton and at Faith Lutheran Church.

Funeral: Friday, November 7, 2008, at 10:30 AM, in Faith Lutheran Church, Wolverton.
Burial: Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Wolverton.
