Curtis R. Aamodt

Curtis R. Aamodt, 75, of Moorhead, MN, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024, in his home.   

Curtis Roy Aamodt was born February 8, 1949, the son of Clarence and Orpha (Foss) Aamodt.  He was raised on the family farm near Shelly, MN, and graduated from Halstad (MN) High School in 1968.  Following graduation, Curtis enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War. 

Upon being discharged from the Navy, Curtis relocated to Minneapolis, MN, where worked for Sears Roebuck Company and then for Homeland Security at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.  In 1993 he moved closer to home, living in Halstad and before settling in Moorhead in 2003.  

A dedicated individual, Curtis found fulfillment volunteering at the VA Medical Center in Fargo and at the American Legion in Moorhead.  

An adventurous soul, Curtis, traveled across various states within the United States.  Amongst other cherished pastimes, he enjoyed attending Minnesota Twins baseball games and partook in cultural events such as the Norsk Host Fest in Minot, MN.  Most importantly, Curtis relished social interactions with and valued the company and conversations with others.  

Curtis will be dearly missed by his brother, Julian Aamodt, Shelly, MN; sister, Carolynn (Dale) Rostberg, Fargo, ND; and by his nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dennis Aamodt, Dale Aamodt, and Allen Aamodt; nephew, Brent Leen; niece Kristann Leen; and sister-in-law, Margie Aamodt. 

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Curtis will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 6, 2024, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead. 

He will be laid to rest in Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
