Cynthia “Cyndi” Hanson, aged 64, of rural Lake Park, MN, peacefully passed away at her home on November 29, 2024 being lovingly cared by Bill and Vicki. Her final day was filled with love, surrounded by her cherished family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Korsmo Funeral Service in Moorhead, MN, led by Rev. Taylor Johnson.

Cynthia Rae was born on May 18, 1960, to John Hanson and Marilyn Cook in Moorhead, MN. Growing up on the north side of Moorhead, she attended Moorhead High School and faced life’s challenges head-on, including living in a foster home as a teenager. As a young mother, she dedicated herself to raising her three children with immense love and care, all while maintaining a warm and welcoming home.

For many years, Cyndi worked diligently in the Fargo-Moorhead area, bringing warmth to the homes she cleaned. Despite battling Lupus for 40 years, her spirit remained unyielding. She developed a deep love for animals, nurturing many cats and dogs, and even rehabilitating a gosling, showcasing her gentle heart.

Cyndi had a passion for billiards and was a champion player at the Corner Pocket. Her journey continued when she met Bill Dorrance in 1989, bringing joy into each other’s lives and eventually establishing their home together at Big Cormorant Lake in 2001, where they made countless memories, particularly during long summer days. Cyndi delighted in gardening, especially tending to her cherished rose garden, and her family will fondly remember her for her delicious baking—especially her chocolate chip cookies, Scotcheroo bars, and pecan lassies.

Cynthia is survived by her significant other, Bill Dorrance, of Lake Park; her two children, Justin Hanson of Moorhead and Jamie (Todd) Larry of Moorhead; her beloved mother, Marilyn Gorman of Moorhead; 14 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Hanson, and three brothers, Kevin, Mark, and Stephen Hanson.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her daughter, Jana Hanson; her father, John Hanson; and her brother, John Hanson.

Cyndi's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
