Daniel Edward Hughes Jr. was born October 6, 1940, in Moorhead, MN, to Daniel and Dorothy (Long) Hughes. Daniel was raised in Moorhead where he graduated from high school in 1958.
He attended Moorhead State University for a time and then began working at Holsum Bakery, Fargo, in 1962. He worked there until he retired and continued to make his home in Moorhead. Daniel had a lake home on Little McDonald where he enjoyed spending time with his family. Daniel's daily activities included visiting with family and friends.
Daniel died Friday, August 5, 2016, at Golden Living Center, Moorhead, at seventy-five years of age.
He is survived by his siblings, Dorothy Ann Thiessen, Judy Clark, Kathie (Dale) Jenson, James (Becky) Hughes, and David (fiancée, Jenny Tollefson) Hughes; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jerald.
Visitation for Daniel will be Tuesday, August 9, 2016, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 10:30 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
