Daniel Isaiah McDonough of Barnesville, Minnesota was born on August 8th, 2002 in Halifax County, Virginia. He was adopted into the family of Stephen and Candace McDonough on May 20th, 2009.
God's ways are not our ways, and never would we have dreamed we'd be saying goodbye just 11 short years after we welcomed you into our family. You lit up our lives the moment you walked through the door at six years old with a smile that was bigger than you were! God knit you into our family like only He could do. Your dreams for the future may have been cut short, but the memories given to us are priceless treasures.
Daniel had a love for music and spent many hours at the piano blessing all who heard him play. He loved to be in the kitchen, and he often improvised recipes, many times resulting in inedible concoctions. Daniel had a passion for knowledge, and when he wasn't playing Chess or Stratego, he could be found reading. His favorite was historical literature, and many times we would spy him with an encyclopedia, and his siblings remember him well for asking thought provoking questions. He looked up to his brothers and often mentioned going to work with Jack in Nebraska. He would call Luke for pointers in body building and was recently given the opportunity to travel down to them to learn valuable life skills, one of which was loyalty to those he loved most.
Daniel passed away on November 16, 2019, at the age of 17, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He will always be remembered for his determination, consideration of others, mischievousness, and joy. Daniel's life may have been cut short on this earth, but he left a lasting impact in the hearts and lives of all who knew him.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Stephen and Candace (Waddell) McDonough and his siblings - Veronica (McDonough) Kargbo, Marilyn, Jack, Elizabeth, Luke, David, Lydia, Matthew, Catherine, Naomi, and Amy.
