Daniel Steven Glumich was born August 1, 1950, in Tacoma, WA, the son of Steven and Naomi (Bown) Glumich.
Dan was raised in St. Paul, MN, also near Bismarck, ND, and Moorhead, MN. Dan graduated from Moorhead High School in 1968, and then attended Moorhead State University. He served in the US Army from 1970 to 1972.
Dan married Diane Buchholtz in 1971 and they moved to Moorhead in 1975, where they made their home until his passing. Dan worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway for thirty-seven years, where he was affectionately known as "Doc".
Daniel Steven Glumich passed away while surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 30, 2008, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND, at fifty-eight years of age.
Daniel's family was the center of his life. He had a passion for animals and wildlife viewing and enjoyed traveling, collecting coins, and following sports. He possessed a gift for reminding those closest to him to appreciate the simple things in life.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-seven years, Diane; three treasured daughters, Sonja (Chris Benson) Glumich, Rome, NY, Tracy (Erik) Hovland, Newport News, VA, and Kimberly (David) Jatko, Maple Grove, MN; and a dear aunt, Lois Long, Sauk R
The memorial service for Daniel will be Friday, December 5, 2008, at 2 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
