December 12, 1944 — August 8, 2022

Darlene Jean Algaard passed away at the age of 77, on August 8, 2022, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN, due to complications from a fall at her residence.

Darlene was born on December 12, 1944, in Fosston, MN, to Gilman and Leada (Larson) Nyhus. She was baptized in Beaulieu, MN and confirmed at First English Lutheran Church in Fosston. She attended and graduated school from Fosston High School.

Darlene was united in marriage to David Algaard on March 2,1963, in Fosston.

Through the years she was also called upon to help people decorate their homes. Darlene was the ultimate organizer, housekeeper and decorator. She enjoyed creating crafts with her friends, making knitted items for family and friends, and baking many types of treats during Christmas. As a member of The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, she volunteered as the wedding coordinator for a time. While at Scheels, she worked setting up displays and at Archie’s, she took pride in decorating the Christmas trees and creating beautiful backdrops for merchandise.

As an independent house cleaner, Darlene earned the respect of her clients by being conscientious and trustworthy.
