Darlyne Christianson, 78, Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Serenity Assisted Living, in Dilworth, MN.
Darlyne Carolyn Larson was born July 31, 1932, at Warren, MN, to Adolph and Ruth (Ranstrom) Larson.
Darlyne attended rural schools and graduated from Warren (MN) High School. She worked at PKM Electric Co-op in Warren. Darlyne married Kermit Christianson on October 12, 1952, at Warren, MN. They farmed near East Grand Forks, MN. Kermit died in 1978.
Darlyne was employed by American Federal Bank of East Grand Forks for seventeen years. She moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1998, where she was a member of The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, and the Swedish Cultural Heritage Society. Darlyne was a charter member of the North Star Quilters Guild of Grand Forks, ND.
Darlyne was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Sylvia Palmer and Kathryn Larson; and one brother, James Larson. She is survived by two brothers, Raymond Larson of Whitehall, WI, and Kenneth (Mary) Larson, of Wickenburg, AZ; and two sisters, Janet (Lyle) Anderson of Hailey, ID, and Cheryl (Robert) Hangsleben of Battle Ground, WA.
Darlyne is also survived by two daughters, Pauline (Dennis) Burthwick, Moorhead, and Cathy (Gregory) Leinum, Appleton, WI; a son, Gary (Lisa) Christianson, East Grand Forks, MN; six grandchildren, Star (Ross) Boe, Moorhead, Tara (Brady) Shyrock, Colorado Springs, CO, Breah Christianson, Detroit Lakes, MN, Kurt (Chelsea Korba) Christianson, Portland, OR, Corey Leinum, Minneapolis, MN, and Amanda Leinum, St. Louis Park, MN; and five great-grandchildren, Julia Boe, Isaac, Joel, Seth and Anna Shyrock; and several nieces and nephews and other family.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Tim and Elaine, and all the caregivers at Serenity Assisted Living Center, Dilworth, for their compassionate care provided to the entire family during this difficult time.
Visitation: Tuesday, April 12, 2011, from 5 - 7 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral: Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead.
