Darold E. Larson

Darold E. Larson, 71, Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in Essentia Health, Fargo.

Darold Edward Larson was born in Hope, ND, to Henry and Clara Larson on June 26, 1942. He went to high school at Hope High School and graduated in 1960. He worked various sales positions before accepting a position as Development Director with The Old Time Gospel Hour/Liberty University ('79). He founded Family Life Credit Services, the Perry Center Maternity Home, Women's Care Clinic, Crisis Pregnancy Center and Christian Family Life Services Adoption Agency.

Darold was an incredible husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed creating memories with his family and encouraged his boys to live a life filled with adventure. Darold loved Jesus and believed that one person could make a difference in this world. He enjoyed attending auctions, taking road trips, and simply sitting around in the presence of his boys. Later in life, he was known as the triplet's grandpa that supplied the neighborhood with ice cream. His sincere heart and goofiness will be greatly missed.

Darold Edward Larson was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Clara Larson (Kruse); brothers, Harold and Gerald; sisters, Eleanor (Harvey) Fick, Roselyn (Rudy) Theis, and Clarice (Walter) Erickson.

He is survived by wife, Patricia (McKelvey) Fargo; children, Benjamin (Kristen), Moorhead, Joseph (Nicole), Fargo, and Timothy (Cambria), Fargo; grandchildren, Charley, Samuel, Gracie, and Abigail; sister, LuAnn (Maynard) Boeder, Tacoma, WA; sisters-in- law, Jean Larson, Fargo, and Cecilia Larson, McMinnville, OR; and many nieces and nephews.

But they that wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31 ESV)

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Perry Center Maternity Home, 2355 Meadow Ridge Parkway (perrycenter.org).

Visitation: Monday, 4 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 10:30 AM in Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo.

Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
