Daryl R. Peacock

Daryl Ray Peacock was born February 28, 1933, to Dillard Earl and Helen (Nickisch) Peacock in Muskegon, MI. On April 3, 1953, Daryl married Beatrice Vellenga in Muskegon. They had one daughter, Diana Lynn (Peacock) Irwin, who resides in Ravenna, MI.
Daryl served in the US Army from 1953-1955 with a K-9 unit. On September 15, 1956, Daryl married Donna Nelson Hahn in Muskegon. Daryl and Donna had two children: Danny Ray Peacock, of Mound, MN, and Debra Lee (Peacock) Lackmann, of Moorhead, MN.
The Peacocks lived in Muskegon where Daryl worked for Norge, and then thirty years at the Muskegon Heights Fire Department until his retirement in July 1992. They retired to Moorhead, MN. Donna preceded Daryl in death in 1995. Daryl relocated to Plymouth, MN, in 1997, where he lived with friend and companion, Gwen Nelson, until his death on May 27, 2009.
Daryl is survived by all three children, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.
His funeral will be Monday, June 1, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids, MN.
Visitation will be at the church after 1 PM on Monday.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
