Delores L. Matson, 83, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Bethany on University in Fargo, ND, where she had lived since November of 2012.
Delores Lorraine Bullock, the daughter of Clarence and Edith (Beckwith) Bullock, was born in Moorhead on April 17, 1930. She grew up and received her education in Moorhead.
On March 17, 1947, Delores married Ordean Matson in Moorhead, where they made their home. Delores owned and operated Voyageur Restaurant in north Moorhead for a number of years. The couple retired in the late 1980s and moved to their lake home on Cotton Lake, near Detroit Lakes, MN. They wintered for a number of years in Mesa, AZ.
After Ordean died in 1996, Delores continued to live at the lake and winter in Mesa. In 2009, she moved back to Moorhead, and lived with her son.
Delores was a great cook and baker and gave away many of her wonderful brownies. She enjoyed doing yard work and caring for her flowers. Delores loved her family and enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Delores is survived by her two children, Terri (Marlo) Sloan and Rodney Matson, both Moorhead; a sister, Patrica (Orlynn) Wang, Ulen, MN; five grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Harrington, Tanya (Mike) Wheeler, Neil Sloan, Kristin ( Mike) Gomez, and Cory Matson;
Visitation: one hour prior to the service.
Memorial service: Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 1:30 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
