Deloris E. Hogenson

Deloris Elaine Syverson, the daughter of Silven and Mabel (Orwald) Syverson, was born near Ulen, MN, on March 12, 1934. She grew up, was baptized and received her education in the Ulen area.
On September 11, 1954, Deloris married Clair A. Hogenson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen. They made their home in Moorhead, MN, where Deloris worked as an Avon sales representative, and in the food service departments of Concordia College and later Moorhead Public Schools, where she retired in 2004.
Deloris was very involved for many years with Teamsters Local 116 Auxiliary and retirees. She was extremely active in her church, as part of the quilters group, circle, and helped answer phones. She enjoyed going to the senior center for meals, cards and bingo. She and her family treasured the days spent at their camper on Lake Lizzie.
Deloris died Tuesday, January 27, 2009, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair, who died in 1994; her parents; father-in-law and step mother-in-law, Alvi and Inez Hogenson; brothers-in-law, Harris Hogenson and Allan Fuglie; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Borgen and Delores Busby.
Deloris is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Cheryl Larson, of Moorhead, and her family, Karen (Kevin) Hanson, and their children, Connor and Hunter, and Barbara (Todd) Moldenhauer; Duane (Deanna) Hogenson, of Fargo, and family, Laura (Josh) Pederson, and Nicole Hogenson; and Randy Hogenson, of Moorhead, and his family, Amanda, Blake and Brittani Hogenson. Also surviving are a sister, Marlys Syverson, Sioux Falls, SD, and "best" brother, Arvin (Julie) Syverson, Ulen.
Visitation: Friday, from 4 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral Service: Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at 2 PM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Burial: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
