Dennis A. Skogstad

Dennis Arthur Skogstad, age 80, passed away peacefully at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND, on February 14, 2022. He was surrounded by his partner and wife of many years, Betty, and his children, Jenny O'Hara, Nicole Clawson, and Arthur Skogstad.
Dennis was born on January 29, 1942, to Arthur and Edna Skogstad, in International Falls, MN. He was raised in the Roseau, MN, area with his siblings and remained there until he joined the Navy in 1959. His years spent in the Navy brought him to various places, including Japan and Pearl Harbor, HI. The Navy gave him a fondness for travel and the great state of Hawaii.
After the Navy, Dennis worked various jobs including trucking and construction. Dennis had a love for small engines, guns, and motorcycles. When Dennis wasn't working, you could either find him at an auction on a Saturday afternoon, at the casino, or taking his motorcycle for a ride with his favorite music playing loudly for all to hear.
For the last several years, Dennis has been a resident of Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile, MN. He made many close connections and friendships with the staff throughout his time there. His family is very grateful for the wonderful and caring staff who took excellent care of him and treated him like their own family member.
Dennis was survived by his wife, Betty; children, Jennifer O'Hara, Nicole (Josh) Clawson, Arthur Skogstad, Sharolyn (Richard) Anderson, Sandra Skogstad, Melanie (Kent) Sikoriski, and Kimberly Skogstad; his siblings, Marion Bushie, Sydney (Laura) Skogstad, Sally (Irvin) Donarski, and Sonja (Brian) Lempen; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Arthur; brothers, Stephen, Vernon and Rodney; infant daughter, Suzette; grandson, Randy Brazier; and numerous other beloved family members and friends.
