Dennis Cannizzaro

Dennis Walter Cannizzaro was born September 30, 1972, in Paterson City, NJ, to Stephen and Debra (Byrnes) Cannizzaro. He graduated from high school and received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

Dennis served in the US Army for several years and received many AAM's and ARCOM's during his service. While stationed in Germany, he earned the difficult Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB).

Dennis and Pamela married May 26, 1995, and they had two children, Ashley and Alex. During his time in the Fargo-Moorhead area, Dennis worked as an RN at Sanford Health and most recently at Prairie St. Johns.

Dennis died Friday, April 18, 2014, at his home in Moorhead, at forty-one years of age.

Dennis enjoyed fishing as well as planning fishing trips with his friends and relatives. He was a movie buff and was able to recognize any movie after watching only a few minutes of it. Dennis enjoyed sports and was especially a fan of the New York Yankees and UND hockey.

In addition to Pamela and their two children, Dennis is survived by his father, Stephen Jr.; brother, Christopher Cannizzaro; half-brothers, Stefano and Giovanni Cannizzaro; aunts, Francine (Bob) Walker, and Anita Herbert; uncle, Allen Cannizzaro; and cousins, Robert Walker, Dawn Herbert, Laura Walker, James Herbert, Danny Walker, Matthew Cannizzaro, and Allen Cannizzaro Jr.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra; and grandparents, Walter and Rita Byrnes, and Stephen Sr. and Francis Cannizzaro.

Visitation will begin at 6 PM, Tuesday, April 29, 2014, followed by a Celebration of Life service, including military honors, Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
