Diane Asleson, age 74, of rural Mapleton, ND, died at her home on Friday, March 16, 2012, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Diane Sharon Ross, daughter of James and Mildred (Werner) Ross, was born July 2, 1937, in Leonard, ND, where she grew up and received her education.
On June 8, 1955, Diane married Maynard Asleson. They lived in Billings, MT, rural Fargo, ND, and for the past 45 years in rural Mapleton, where they farmed.
Diane is survived by her husband, Maynard, Mapleton, ND; daughters, Debbie (Dave) Skoug, Marshfield, WI, and Peggy (Greg) Sorge, Walcott, ND; sons, Ken (Debbie) Asleson and Rich (Sheryl) Asleson, both Mapleton; a sister, Kathryn (Ole) Johnson, Oakes, ND; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; a grandson, Andrew Borgerson; and two brothers, William and James Ross.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Gross, Susan Hoffman, and all the staff at Roger Maris Cancer Center and Sanford Hospital for their compassionate care through all the years.
Visitation: Monday, 4 PM to 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
Funeral: Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 2 PM in First Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
