Donald Byron Stark was born November 8, 1926, in Fargo, ND, to Oscar and Eve (Hemmerling) Stark.
Don was raised in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School. Don entered the US Navy in November of 1944 and served until July of 1946.
Don was united in marriage to Rose Deinhart on November 20, 1947, in Mankato, MN, and they made their home in Fargo. Don worked as a gas pipe fitter for Northern States Power, now Xcel Energy.
Rose preceded Don in death on August 25, 2001. Don died Monday, January 26, 2009, at his home in Moorhead, MN, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Don is survived by his two sons, Jerry (Amanda) Stark, Pahrump, NV, and Dan (Diane) Stark, Argusville, ND; one daughter, Deborah Stark Hemsing of Gig Harbor, WA; six grandchildren, Nicole, Robin, Tim, Amy, Ann, and Michelle; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Katie, Ben, Matthew, Sam, Alex, and Olivia; and one great-great-granddaughter, Bailey.
The funeral for Don will be Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 11 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
