Donald D. Haggart

April 25, 1923 — April 9, 2010

Donald Daniel Haggart was born April 25, 1923, in Williston, ND, to Stanley and Mary (Hensen) Haggart. The family moved to Minnesota when Donald was young. They lived and farmed in a number of communities.

Donald entered the US Navy in July of 1943 and served until June of 1945. Following his discharge, Donald met Lenore Mary Stitz in Wahpeton, ND, and they were married in Fargo, ND, on July 31, 1948. They lived most of their years in Fargo, area, where they raised their family.

In 1954, Donald accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and continued to live his life for his Savior until his death. Donald worked as a life insurance underwriter for over fifty years and had reached the level of Million Dollar Sales Club several times in the 1950's.

Despite his success in the insurance field and the potential of being even more successful, Donald realized what was truly important in life, and that was sharing the need of Jesus Christ with his clients. He never wavered from that commitment.

Donald and Lenore moved to Lisbon, ND, in 2003, to live with their son, Stanley. Lenore died April 30, 2006, and Donald moved to Fargo shortly afterwards. He entered Elim Rehab and Care Center, Fargo, in August of 2006. It was there that Donald went home to be with his Lord on Friday, April 9, 2010, at eighty-six years of age.

Donald is lovingly survived by his son, Stanley, Garrison, ND; a daughter, Laura Kay (Stephen) Steckler, West Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Roy (Norma) Haggart, Wisconsin.

Visitation for Donald will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010, from 1 - 2 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. His funeral will be Tuesday at 2 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
