Donald "Don" Biesterfeld

Donald Herman Biesterfeld was born December 12, 1941, in Aberdeen, SD, to Herman and Thirza (Kinney) Biesterfeld. He grew up in rural Milnor, ND and attended school in Harvey, ND at the Seventh-day Adventist (Sheyenne River) Academy.

Don moved to Fargo in 1966. He later met Helen Baron, and they were married on July 3, 1970. In 1974, Don started his career at FM Forklift and worked there as a mechanic until he retired in 2019 at age 77. 

Don had a service heart. If someone needed help, he would do everything in his power to help them. He had an especially soft spot for the people that worked at his favorite restaurants (Highway Host, Valley Kitchen, Randy's, Kroll's Diner, and Deaner's Diner).

Don died peacefully Thursday, September 5, 2024, while under Hospice care, surrounded by his family.

Visitation for Don will be Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 1 - 3 PM, with a Life Celebration service at 3 PM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead, MN.
