Donald L. Hagen, 78, Oakdale, MN, formerly of Rolette, ND, died Monday, March 12, 2012, in the Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.
Donald Lloyd Hagen was born September 2, 1933, to Math and Clara (Johnson) Hagen in Rolette. He graduated from high school in Rolette and attended the Bottineau School of Forestry for a brief period of time before entering the Army in October of 1953. Upon his honorable discharge in 1955, Donald moved to Montana where he worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad learning the electrician's trade.
He eventually moved to St. Paul, MN, where he married Darlene Olson in October of 1975. They made their home in St. Paul and upon their retirement from work, they moved to Oakdale.
Darlene died in 2002, and Donald continued to make his home in Oakdale. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan. He especially liked to watch the Minnesota Twins and Vikings play.
