Donavon J. Wagner

Donavon Joseph Wagner was born September 7, 1923, on the family farm near Red Lake Falls, MN, to George and Marie (Rosch) Wagner. Donavon was raised on the farm until the family moved into Red Lake Falls when he was eight years of age.
He entered the US Army in 1942 and served until 1945. Following his discharge, Donavon returned to Red Lake Falls. He was united in marriage to Rita Zins on October 3, 1947, at Red Lake Falls, and they moved to Moorhead, MN.
Donavon attended Hanson Auto School in Fargo, ND, for training as a diesel mechanic. He then worked for Overvold Motors in Fargo, and later as a truck driver for Leo Johnson's Furniture in Moorhead. Rita preceded him in death on May 13, 2004.
Donavon died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, at eighty-four years of age.
Donavon is survived by a son, Joe (Lynnae) Wagner, West Fargo, ND; a daughter, Freedom Gray, Moorhead; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 28, 2008, from 5 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, February 29, 2008, at 1 PM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Burial, with full military honors, will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
