Donna Jean Kaiser was born September 6, 1951, in Mahnomen, MN, to Donald and Mary Ann (Stalberger) Kaiser. Donna was raised in Mahnomen where she graduated from high school in 1969.
Donna graduated from the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She began working for Garrity, Cahill, Gunhus, Grinnell and Streed, in Moorhead, MN, as a legal secretary, in June of 1971. Donna continued to work with the firm, which is currently known as Vogel Law Firm, and retired in January of 2010.
Donna was united in marriage to Loren Lee Dittes on October 27, 1972, and they made their home in Moorhead. Loren died December 7, 1997.
Donna fought a courageous battle with cancer since her diagnosis in October of 2007. She died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in her mother's arms, under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley, at fifty-eight years of age.
Donna enjoyed camping with her family in her earlier years. Later, she enjoyed doing puzzles, needlework, reading, going to lunch with friends, trips to the casino, and spending weekends in Mahnomen with her mother and her friends at Valley View. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she loved spending as much time with them as she was able.
Donna is lovingly survived by her children, Robbie Dittes and Amy (Gary) Johnson, both Moorhead; four grandchildren, Alexa Dittes, Jacob Else, Taylor Johnson and Dylan Dittes; her mother, Mary Ann Kaiser, Mahnomen; sisters, Mary (John) Ondrush, Rosenberg, TX, and Linda (Leo) Filipi, Moorhead; and brothers, Joe Kaiser, Mahnomen, Donald Kaiser Jr., Gary, MN, and Steven "Pete" (Rita) Kaiser, Herman, MN.
In addition to her husband, Loren, Donna was preceded in death by her father and her husband's parents, Ralph and Ruth Dittes.
Visitation for Donna will be Friday, May 7, 2010, from 10 AM - 11 AM, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead.
The funeral mass will be Friday at11 AM, in St. Francis de Sales.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
