Donna M. Hoff, 88, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of rural Felton, MN, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in Essentia Health. Fargo, ND.
Donna Mae Drake was born March 22, 1929, in Fargo, the daughter of Ray and Clarissa (Montagne) Drake. She was raised in rural Moorhead, until moving with her family to rural Ada, MN. Donna graduated from Ada High School and then attended the North Dakota School of Agriculture (NDSU) in Fargo, where she received her degree in Home Economics.
On June 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Norman Hoff, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fargo. They lived in rural Perley and then rural Ada where Donna taught school in Ada. In 1962, Donna and Norman moved to a farm in rural Felton, where they farmed until 1985 when Norman passed away. Over the years, Donna was a substitute teacher in Borup and Felton. Donna continued to make her home on the farm until 2011 when she moved to Farmstead Estates in Moorhead.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moorhead and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ada and St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Felton. She was also active in the Homemakers Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and served as a 4-H leader. Donna enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, and traveling with her sisters-in-law and friends.
She is survived by her children, Douglas (Susan) Hoff, Indianapolis, IN, Kathy (Mike) Sandberg, Frazee, MN, Connie (Jeff) Kerr, Fergus Falls, MN, James (Elizabeth) Hoff, Forest Lake, MN, Valerie Riepe, Twin Valley, MN, Joan (Glen) McGee, Richardson, TX, COL. Bryan (Sara) Hoff, Honolulu, HI, and Sandra (Brian) Houts, St. Louis Park, MN; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Clayton (Phyllis) Drake, Fargo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; son-in-law, Sid Riepe; brother, Dean Drake; and sister, Lucille Miller.
A Visitation for Donna will be Sunday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM with a 5:00 PM, Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 29, 2018, at 11:00 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Burial will be in the Felton Cemetery, Felton, MN.
