Doris A. Allen

Doris Allen, 82, Urbandale, IA, formerly of Fargo, ND, died Monday, September 9, 2013, at her home in Urbandale.

Doris Alice Johnson was born October 30, 1930, to Carl and Alice (Benson) Johnson in Fargo. She was a graduate of Fargo Central High School. She was married to Wayne L. Allen on August 10, 1957, and they made their home in Fargo, where they lived until moving to Des Moines, IA, in 1988. Her husband, Wayne, died in 2005.

Doris worked in the billing office of Iowa Methodist Medical Center and for Mail Boxes Etc. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Valley Evangelical Church in West Des Moines and Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fargo, ND.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Dean) Jensen, Frisco, TX, Brent (Susan) Allen, Fargo, and Amy (Kelly) Schneider, Des Moines; grandchildren, Elijah and Tyler Jensen, Ryan and Rachelle Allen, and Madison Schneider; brother, Maurice (Donna) Johnson, Hugo, MN; sisters- in- law, Donna Mae and Marge Johnson. In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene and Gordon Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship to be established at North Dakota State University Nursing Program.

Memorial service: Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 11:00 AM, in Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fargo, ND. Burial will be prior to the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
