Doris E. Wright

Doris Esther York was born November 21, 1916, to Charles and Anna (Barstad) York, in Streeter, ND. The family moved to Dilworth, MN, when she was young, and she graduated from Dilworth High School.
Doris received a teaching degree from Moorhead (MN) State Teachers College. She taught in rural Barnesville, MN, as well as in Iowa. Doris was united in marriage to Blaine Henry Wright on August 30, 1940, in Elkhorn, NE, and they made their home in Moorhead. They moved to Dilworth in 1946.
Doris was the organist at Dilworth Lutheran Church for many years, and played for many funerals and weddings. She also was the accompanist for the Halbeisen School of Dance in Fargo, ND, for many years. Doris also worked for, and retired from, Nels Vogel Music Company in Moorhead.
Doris and Blaine moved back to Moorhead in 1964. She entered Golden Living Center, Moorhead, in 2006. Blaine preceded her in death on April 27, 2008, and she died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Golden Living Center, at ninety-three years of age.
Doris is survived by her son, Richard "Dick" Wright, Moorhead; two granddaughters, Tricia Wright, Dell Rapids, SD, and Nina Wright, Fargo. In addition to her husband, Blaine, Doris was preceded in death by her parents; three infant grandchildren, Debbie, Anthony and Jody; a sister, Irene; and two brothers, Ken and Jerry.
Visitation for Doris will be Monday, March 29, 2010, from 5 - 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her funeral will be Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at 1:30 PM, in Dilworth Lutheran Church.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
