Doris Ford

Doris Lucille Ford, 79, Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, in her home.


Doris was born October 5, 1924, in Ada, MN, the daughter of Wilfred and Hilda (Sanders) LaGrow. She grew up in Felton, MN.


Doris married William S. Ford on November 17, 1948, in Moorhead, where they were lifelong residents. In 1967 she began working for the Moorhead Public School System. She had a variety of jobs, but the one she especially loved was working in the media center at George Washington Elementary School. She was awarded the MEA Lay Person of the Year award for dedicated work in the school system. Her husband, William, died in 1993.


Doris was a charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead. She loved to bake and take trips to local casinos.


Doris is survived by daughters, Janice (Bruce) Harmon, Moorhead, and Barbara (John) Marsh, Fargo, ND; son, Robert (Shelley) Ford, Moorhead; grandchildren, Christopher and Jess Ford, Ryan and Jason Marsh, and Chad (Laura) Loosmore; sisters, Muriel Motschenbacher, Moorhead, and Betty Empting, Dilworth, MN; daughter-in-law, Cheri Ford, Fargo; and sister-in-law, Lucille LaGrow, Carlton, MN.


In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bradley; and a brother, Russell.
