Doris Gigler, 91, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at Sheyenne Crossings Care Center in West Fargo, ND.
Enid Doris Boreen was born December 5, 1921, at Flom, MN, the daughter of George and Christine (Nelson) Boreen. She was raised in Flom and graduated from Twin Valley (MN) High School in 1939. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Honeywell and later returned to Twin Valley.
On February 11, 1945, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Gigler in Twin Valley. They established their home in Ada, MN, and in 1963 moved to Aneta, ND. While living in Aneta, Doris worked at The First Bank of Sharon and the local grocery store. After retirement she and Lawrence worked as painters and roofers in Aneta. They moved to Fargo in 2004. Lawrence died November 15, 2010.
Doris was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and was very active in the Cooperstown (ND) Sons of Norway.
She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, gardening, cooking and canning, and was an excellent seamstress. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Judith (Richard) King, of Sheridan, MT, Denise Whitman, of Waterville, MN, and Patrice (Daniel) Scott, of Westminster, CO; grandchildren, Dennis Whitman, II, Gretchen (Tony) Enger and Jarrod (Andrea) Kiefat; great-grand
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; son-in-law, Dennis Whitman; brothers, Newman and Grant; sister, Clarice Boreen and twin sister, Dorothy Rogers.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service.
Funeral Service: Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 11:00 AM, in Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
