Dorothy A. Larson

September 23, 1912 — March 6, 2005

Dorothy A. Selstedt Larson, 92, Fargo, ND, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the Bethany Homes in Fargo. Services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005, at 10:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN, with the Reverend Daniel Wagner officiating. Interment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sabin. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2005 from 6 - 8 PM at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, with a prayer service at 7 PM.

Dorothy was born September 23, 1912, west of Fargo in a farmstead on the bank of the Sheyenne River, the daughter of Inga (Hagen) and Alfred Selstedt. She attended country school in rural Fargo and high school in Fargo. On January 29, 1930, she married Marvin W. Larson. They lived in Fargo until 1957 when they lost their home in a tornado. In 1957, they moved to Sabin where Dorothy lived until she moved to Fargo in 1999.

Dorothy worked at Herbst Department Store and Sgutt's in Fargo before her retirement in 1974. Dorothy loved gardening, needlework, reading, and crossword puzzles. She held her family dear and often remarked that she wouldn't know what she would do without them.

She is survived by her children Gloria (Kenneth) Joos, Bella Vista, AR; Joan (Leo) Annis, West Fargo, ND; Larry (Darlene) Larson, Buffalo, WY; and Leola (Jack) Olson, Bismarck, ND; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Lillian Merrigan, brother, Arlo Selstedt, and daughter, Marylis Jones.
