Dorothy D. Salter

Dorothy Dell Salter was born May 21, 1925, in Bismarck, ND, to Richard and Mabel (Funston) Salter. Dorothy was raised in Menoken, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1943.
Dorothy received a bachelor's degree from Kletzing College, Oskaloosa, IA, and then taught for two years in Harvey, ND. Dorothy came to Moorhead, MN, in 1950, and taught at Moorhead Junior High. She taught English and Geography for forty years. She retired in 1991 and continued to make her home in Moorhead. While she taught, Dorothy also did graduate work at NDSU, Fargo, ND.
Dorothy was a charter member of Moorhead Church of the Nazarene since its inception in 1961. With her family by her side, Dorothy died Monday, September 20, 2004, in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, at seventy-nine years of age.
Dorothy is survived by her two brothers, Lloyd (Lois) Salter, and Keith Salter, both Menoken; nieces and nephews, Dean (Darcy) Salter, and Jan Bashus, both Bismarck, ND, Scott (Tara) Salter, and Patty (Dave) Ennen, both Menoken, Connie (Pat) Heaton, McKenzie, ND, and Tim (Terri) Salter, Grand Island, NE; grandnieces and grandnephews, Krystal, Kayla, Jim, Justin, Jessie, Andy, Heather, Shawn, Kaddy, and Jacob; two spiritual grandchildren, Joel and Katie; and a special friend, Deb (Otto) Ferrie.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Virginia.
Visitation for Dorothy will be Thursday, September 23, 2004, from 5 - 8 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral will be Friday, September 24, 2004, at 2 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel. A funeral will be held in B
