Dorothy Fagerlie

Dorothy Irene Fagerlie died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, surrounded by loving family, where she had been a resident since 2010.

Dorothy Irene Johnson, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Johnson, was born in Frazee, Minnesota. She graduated from high school and attended business college, both in Detroit Lakes, MN. From 1942 until 1944, she worked as a legal secretary in Washington, DC.

On July 9, 1944, Dorothy married Floyd Fagerlie. While Floyd was overseas in the armed forces, Dorothy lived and worked in Chicago, IL.

In 1947, Dorothy and Floyd made their home in Moorhead, where she had lived since. Dorothy worked for 23 years for Moorhead Public Service. The couple enjoyed time spent at their homes on Big Floyd Lake, and in Mesa, AZ.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Doug (Cindy) Fagerlie, Moorhead; daughter, Diane (Jim) Klitzke, Erhard, MN; five grandchildren, Ben (Christi) Fagerlie, Superior, WI, Amy (Jeff) Cross, Alexandria, MN, Justin (DG) Klitzke, Blair, NE, Josh (Katie) Klitzke, Minnetonka, MN, and Janna (Andy) Rarick, Fergus Falls, MN; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd (1995); her parents; and nine siblings.

Visitation: Thursday, from 5 PM until 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral service: Friday, November 15, 2013, at 2 PM in the Bottolfson Chapel of Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead. Burial will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
