Dorothy L. Holte, age 90, of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, September 26, 2020, in Sanford Hospital on Broadway, Fargo, ND.
Dorothy LuVerne Wilkens, the daughter of William and Olga (Forthun) Wilkens, was born in Ada, MN, on March 22, 1930. She grew up in the Ada area on the family farm and graduated from high school in Ada.
On December 31, 1948, Dorothy was united in marriage to Fernald L. Holte, in Lockhart, MN. They made their home in the Fargo/Moorhead area, where Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper at Gunkelman's in Fargo, and for Dakota Photo.
Her husband, Fernald, died on July 30, 2015. Following his death, Dorothy continued to live in Moorhead; first in her home, and later at River Pointe assisted living, and finally in Eventide Fairmont. Dorothy was an avid knitter and loved to play card games.
Dorothy is survived by her four children, Bruce (Toni) Holte, Bedford, TX, Bradley (Michelle) Holte, Sebastopol, CA, Jeffrey (Rae) Holte, Shell, Ecuador, and Jodi (Michael) Rogers, Beaver Dam, WI; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Delores Knorr, William (Betty) Wilkens, Lois (Leslie) Gigler, Audrey (Roger) Larson, Diana (Joe) Wilkens-Kudelka, and Raymond (Marilyn) Wilkens.
Visitation for Dorothy will be Saturday (Oct. 3, 2020) 12 noon until 1 PM, followed by her funeral service at 1 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. She will be buried in Pleasant View Cemetery, Ada.
