Dorothy Ruoff

Dorothy Hay Sibbald, the daughter of Robert and Janet (Hay) Sibbald, was born in Minneapolis, MN, on April 27, 1916. She grew up and received her education in Minneapolis, where she graduated from West High School in 1934, and attended business college. As a young lady, she worked in the Sears store in Minneapolis.
On June 17, 1939, Dorothy married Daniel H. Ruoff in Minneapolis. They lived in Sebeka, MN, and in Ada, MN, where Daniel was a teacher and coach. Daniel retired in 1979, and shortly after that they moved to Moorhead, where they had lived since. Daniel died on January 19, 2001. After his death, Dorothy continued to live in Moorhead, most recently as a resident of Eventide Lutheran Home, where she died on Monday, January 19, 2009, at the age of 92.
Dorothy was active in her churches, Faith United Methodist Church in Ada, and Grace United Methodist Church in Moorhead. She had a passion for caring for her family, friends, children and animals. She enjoyed watching competitive athletics and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of the 20th Century Book Club.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kathy Ruoff, West St. Paul, MN, Barb (Bob) Gullickson, LeCenter, MN, and JoAnn (Larry) Knutson, Moorhead; five grandchildren, Chris (Sheila) Gullickson, Nathan Gullickson, Daniel (Sarah) Gullickson, Tami (Corey) Delorme and Janet (Jeremy) Hovde; and eight great-grandchildren, Peyton Dorothy Gullickson, Andrew Kent Gullickson, Emma Lasch Gullickson, Avery Elizabeth Gullickson, Parker Daniel Delorme, Lucy Marie Delorme, Libby Anne Hovde and Grant Carlton Hovde.
