Dorothy Ann Skjaret (nee Reynolds), age 87, daughter of Edward and Margaret (Koenig) Reynolds was born January 27, 1922, in Barnesville, MN. She passed away September 14, 2009.
Dorothy graduated from Sacred Heart Academy (now Shanley High School) in 1939. She attended Fargo Business College and received a two-year degree. Dorothy worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at Cass County Implement, Fargo HUD, Moorhead HUD, and finally at Moorhead State University until she retired.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Grant Leroy Skjaret on January 22, 1944. They were married for 40 years. She is survived by her children, Margie (Brian) Williams, Spokane, WA, Tom (Sally) Skjaret, Long Lake, MN, Ed Skjaret, Minneapolis, MN, and Diane (Floyd, III) Wilvers, Plymouth, MN; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Grant in 1984; granddaughter, Sara Michelle Jones in 2006; her parents; and all eight brothers and sisters.
Dorothy enjoyed quilting and was a member of the North Dakota Quilters Guild. All of her children and grandchildren have a special quilt from her. She also crocheted many afghans, baby blankets, and her famous towels. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters, and was a devoted member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for over 40 years.
Dorothy moved to Minneapolis, MN, from Moorhead in 2001 to be closer to her family. She recently moved into Catholic Eldercare where she spent her final days.
