Dorothy Swenson

Dorothy, 82, went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 20, 2017. She was born to Edward and Dorothy Rhodes in Alexandria, MN, on January 27, 1934. Later, she moved with her family to Minneapolis and graduated from South Minneapolis High School. Dorothy married Wesley Swenson on March 16, 1953; they were married 51 years and had five children.

She was very involved in her church. Dorothy volunteered in Children's ministries and also participated in numerous mission trips including Ireland, China, and Kauai. She was known as a prayer warrior by those who knew and loved her. In this past year, Dorothy moved to Elim Care Center and will be remembered as an angel and beacon of hope.

Dorothy is survived by her five children, Debbie (Joe) Valle, Cheryl Swenson, Sandy (Joe) Morrone, Leslie (Darrel) Nehk, and David Swenson (Renee, fiancée); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley; sister, Margaret; and three brothers.

Visitation for Dorothy is Monday, January 23, 2017, from 10 AM until 11 AM in Believers Fellowship Church, Moorhead, followed by her funeral service at 11 AM on Monday, also in the church. Burial will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens.

Funeral arrangements are by Korsmo Funeral Service, Moorhead.
