Dorothy L. Wolff, 78, Moorhead, MN, died June 5, 2010, at Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.
Dorothy Louise Dankert was born August 6, 1931, to William and Florence Dankert, in Hammond, Indiana. Early in life she lived in an orphanage in Indiana. She graduated from high school in Hobart, Indiana. As a young woman she moved to Fargo, where her sister lived.
She was married to Martin Wolff on July 19, 1952, in Kindred, ND, and they lived in Fargo. Together they had four children, Martin Jr., Debra, Richard, and Timothy. They moved to Sabin, MN, and Dorothy worked as a waitress and bartender at Ronnie's in Sabin. Later she married James Motschenbacher and they had a daughter, Jami.
She moved to Moorhead and spent the last eight months at Eventide Lutheran Home where she made many friends.
She loved to bake and shared her baked goods with family and friends. She also enjoyed going to garage sales and out shopping and could always find a good deal. She went fishing every chance she got from dawn to dusk and could cook fish wonderfully. While living in her apartment, she enjoyed her canaries and her cat, Oreo, whom her dear friend Ruth now has.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and three sons, Martin Jr., Richard, and Timothy. She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Richard) Poehls, Fargo, and Jami Motschenbacher, Moorhead; a daughter-in-law, Jo Wolff, Detroit Lakes, MN; two grandso
